We Look Forward To Meeting You!
Welcome to Coweta Baptist Church. We’ve put together some information to briefly answer some of the questions you may have before visiting our church for the first time:
Location
We are located at 28149 E. 131st St., Coweta, Ok. at Hwy. 51 and 131st St. There is plenty of parking and a covered passenger drop-off at the front doors for inclement weather and the elderly.
Atmosphere
We are a small church with some of the friendliest people in town. We are down-to-earth people who have real struggles and problems like you and will do everything we can to make your visit with us pleasant.
When you arrive you will be greeted by members of the church who will be very happy that you are worshiping with us.
You will not be called upon, pointed out, or in any way embarrassed by us. We want you to feel as comfortable as possible without any pressure on our part. It is stressful enough to come to a new church we don't want to add to it.
Our service is simple, much like it was in the early churches. We have a morning Bible study at 10:00, worship service at 11:00. There is a break for folks to get some lunch and then we have an afternoon service beginning at 1:30.
Family friendly
We are excited to have you for a visit and hope that you might eventually become a part of our assembly. As a Church, you will notice that the members are intimate and caring for one another. We pray for one another and the older brethren watch over the younger ones. No one is ever slighted or considered less than another. We intend to serve the whole family with age appropriate Biblical instruction and most of our activities, are family activities. If you have babies, we have a nursery and a room for toddlers, both appropriately staffed.
Our activities are family-oriented because we believe this is Biblical and in the highest order of God's model for society. The world is intent on destroying the foundation of our society, the family. We are not of this world, nor do we desire to promote the "world" model in our church.
We support homeschoolers and greatly encourage parents who are willing to meet the challenge of educating their children at home. We offer encouragement and counseling on how to promote a godly home amid a confusing world.
Visits by the Pastor can be easily arranged, just send a post from the contact page.
Sermons
From the pulpit, you will hear sound biblical preaching. The focus of each sermon is built around a Biblical text with its theology and practical application expounded for the edification of the children of God. We enjoy appropriate humor and a good-natured laugh but the things of God and the Holy Scripture we take very seriously. We believe that the preaching of the gospel of Christ and the working of the Holy Spirit is sufficient to convince you in mind and spirit of the truth of God’s word and that you will believe from the heart those things written and declared from the word of God.
Biblical Teaching
Here at Coweta Baptist Church, we place a high priority on the preaching and teaching of God's Word. The worship service is a time for us to come together as an assembly to learn, be encouraged, and be challenged by God's Word. We will not waste your time with speculation and supposition but rather give a sound exposition of the Scriptures with a practical application. If something is not taught in the Bible by word, precept, and example, then it should never be taught as a Bible truth.
